Talibro.com

Talibro.com is an online accounting software for SMBs (as positioned in their website and also recommended by us) is the most recent of Accounting SaaS we have reviewed so far.

Honestly, we have seen lots of entrants doing weird accounting apps, but our stereotype has been shattered when reviewing the software.

It is a new accounting application, with old school (most appropriate and simplest) approach to accounting and comes with the right maneuverability for small and medium businesses for almost $20/month subscription proved very easy to operate.

Talibro.com offers 100% flexibility in transactions and helps business manage their sales, bills/expenses, and inventory. Inventory management in the system is built-in, thus no 'add-on' cost or whatsoever.

The software also has a very intuitive interface, thus the navigation is not a wonderland experience and was quite pleasing.

Getting Started
Signup process in the system is exceptionally easy and even allows you choose the interface language, date and number formats.

Though unlike most apps, we had to signup by giving payment method details, that some businesses maybe reluctant to do. But who cares as long as 30 day free trial with an easy cancel option is available.

So after completing the registration, we arrived in a dashboard comprising of Income & Expense graph and four widgets: Account Balances, Overdue Invoices, Bills to Pay and Money to Receive.

We also noticed a simple To-do list in the right section, that seemed quite a handy tool

Contacts
Bulk upload of customers and suppliers was very easy to accomplish. All we needed to do was be in a relevant section and import a CSV file with contacts. That is, to import customers user would need to navigate to sales section, find Customers submenu and click import. By the same token, to upload suppliers, one needs to be in Purchases/Bills section.

In fact, there were two options:

  1. Custom CSV file - required matching of fields
  2. System CSV file - no matching required
That's we could, literally upload any sort of CSV file, with headers of course. We could also batch edit  customers' data by editing our CSV file and re-uploading it.
In fact, customer/supplier importing option of Talibro.com proved better than QuickBooksOnline, which offered far more fields.

We also liked the fact that we could add customers and supplier with beginning balances. Both negative and positive values worked fine.

Products / Inventory

In Talibro.com, users can manage their inventory in two methods: FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and LIFO (Last-In-Fast-Out). We chose  FIFO method for our testing purposes.

Inventory management in Talibro.com is very flexible and allowed us to add items with beginning balances, buy, sell, adjust quantities and even value of stock by creating stock adjustments.

Just for information, none of the accounting applications we have reviewed  offer value adjustment. The ones that offer quantity adjustment, for the most part, do not allow you to edit/delete such adjustment transactions.

Invoicing

Creating an invoice is quite easy and provides for continuous workflow, that is, we could create
items, customers, tax, terms without leaving Sales Invoice form.

We could also attach documents to invoices and email our sample customer with documents enclosed

There is also an option to create a recurring invoice, which can be set in Invoice form.

In Talibro.com, we could receive payments exceeding customer balance, and apply the excess across open invoices (FYI most of the apps do not allow you to receive amount exceeding customer balance).

There is also an option to receive payments via PayPal, and such payments will be automatically logged, updating invoice balances and registering PayPal fees under PayPal fees expense account.

Expenses

Users in Talibro.com can log their expenses via Checks and Bills, attach receipts and vendor bills respectively.

Unlike most accounting applications we have walked through, it is much simpler to track which bills are paid by what check and vice versa.

Reports

Talibro.com offers transparent financial and management reports, that is, we could explore transaction behind any number.

What sets Talibro.com reports apart, is the graphs/charts for management decision making purposes, that one can hardly find in other accounting software as a service products.
