SaaSu

SaaSu is an Online Accounting Software for Small and Midsized Businesses and comes loaded with various features for discerning eyes. Sometimes, it takes a user to strain eyes over tiny input fields and small font-sizes.

SaaSu packages with inventory start from $35/month and up to $60/month.


Getting Started

Signing up with SaaSu was a piece of cake. After completing the registration, we arrived at a dashboard which sketched out steps we needed to tackle, such as connecting bank account, filling out company details, and importing list items.

Regarding importing list items. SaaSu, a New Zealand company offers a quick transition from MYOB, Xero and Banklink. Yet, when it comes to uploading custom CSV files, there is no intermediary process of matching CSV headers with that of SaaSu predefined column names. Thus, it took us a bit of trial and error to bulk upload list items.

Contacts
In SaaSu, users can import their customers and suppliers. Also, we found it quite comprehensive when it comes to adding customer,supplier related info.
Yet, like in most online accounting applications, there was no way to add customers/suppliers with beginning balances.

Products/Inventory

We really liked inventory features, and stock adjustment functions as well as availability of BOM (Bill of Materials) in SaaSu. There was one moment when we had to scratch our heads. Items added with beginning balances were not displayed in Balance Sheet, until  real purchase was recorded.

Other than that, inventory management in SaaSu was great



Invoicing

Creating an invoice in SaaSu was pretty simple and fast. There was also an option to convert Sales Estimates into Purchase orders, which is a handy option for Drop-shippers.

Automation of Sales Invoices was straightforward.

Yet, when it came to receiving payments from customers exceeding customer balance, SaaSu did not give us any option. Thus there was no way we could register customer prepayments.


Expenses

Users in SaaSu create bills with various statuses such as:

• Money-Out (Expense)
• Payment invoice (though we could not figure out the purpose, nor any help material on that) 

Though, it would be logical to let Money-Out type withdraw cash from bank account directly, as the name prevailing suggests (sounds like writing a check, or just a cash expense)

Reports

SaaSu has a comprehensive list of reports, but provide no transparency.

After generating reports, we were not able to click and see transactions behind each number, thus it took us cross-checking sessions, which did not add up to positive impression.
